Note: I’m planning a trip down the East coast into NSW, VIC and SA from 22/4 to 27/6 so not available for sits in Brisbane on those dates.
I'm an open minded, independent and tidy non-smoker who is known for stopping in the street to say hello to animals.
Having been self employed as a consultant and coach for over 20 years, no two days are the same for me. I love meeting new people and experiencing different situations. That means I can easily adapt to living in your house and ensuring your pets receive the same care they would from you.
I love ballroom dancing (I teach and compete), so I'm out a few nights a week but my class schedule means I'm home for feeding time. I am semi retired and do some online coaching so I'm generally home during the day.
My goal is to make it seem like I was never there so you come home to a familiar house and relaxed pets. I always stay in contact while you're away, sending pictures and updates as often as you need.
I started housesitting in 2017 with some short local sits in Brisbane before spending Christmas 2017 in Canada. I've been sitting full time since June 2018 and have now completed over 120 sits ranging from 3 days to 2 months in 10 countries. I'm on two websites and all my reviews are 5 star.
My experiences include:
- looking after senior pets
- caring for animals with sight and hearing loss
- administering medication
- injecting a diabetic cat
- following strict dietary requirements
- walking cats
- caring for sensitive rescue animals
- handling chickens
In the past I was a volunteer at Taronga Zoo for a few years, handling native animals including birds, snakes, possums, bats and wombats so I'm also comfortable with a range of other pets. Plus I grew up with fish, mice and a turtle.
I love gardening, having started a couple of gardens from scratch and volunteered at a community garden so I'm happy to look after your plants but I don't mow lawns!
My ideal sit would be with one or two animals (cats or small to medium dogs) in a clean, tidy, uncluttered house or apartment occupied by adults. I prefer to sleep in a spare room.
In Brisbane I like to be within 5km of the CBD.
With all my housesitting experience I've found I can't live without a microwave and good wifi but I don't need a coffee machine or a dishwasher. In summer aircon and a private pool are essential!
This was our first time having someone stay over at our property to house sit- no doubt like most people we were somewhat apprehensive, but Kate put us completely at ease & we instinctively knew we were in good hands with our cherished fur babies- a lovely lady who provides a 5-star service & we look forward to having her stay again-thanks again Kate.
At short notice Kate agreed to sit out home and cat, so glad she could! We could not be happier with how our house and pit were looked after. At no fault of Kate, I messed up our return date and time information. Kate was so understanding, flexible and kind. Thanks Kate!
Kate went above and beyond. The day before we went away, our diabetic dog took a slight turn with her glucose levels, and Kate monitored her closely for us, with excellent communication. It was a tricky time, not helped by the torrential rain which forced our camping trip to end two days before it was supposed to. Kate was understanding and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Kate responded to our ad very quickly and not only did we chat on the phone but she also came to our house to meet us and Lilly before the sit which put us at ease.Kate was a wonderful sitter, we received photos and lovely messages whilst we were away.When we got home everything was perfect and Lilly was happy.Would love to have Kate back for future house sits! Kate is an excellent sitter. She communicates clearly with her expectations and asks key questions to ensure she understands our needs.
Brax didn't even miss us - he was happy to keep her company - and she made sure he had all his meds. She sent update photos of Brax every couple of days, which were much appreciated. The house was left spotless and the lawn watered. Highly recommended.

Kate was lovely, when I got home it was like I'd never left. The house was tidy and clean and my cats were very happy and well looked after. Kate sent me updates and pics of my cats which was lovely to receive. I'd be more than happy to have Kate house sit again for me.
I was very lucky to have Kate look after my 2 little burmese cats. She was able to do the medications of oral tablets and eye ointment for 1 of them, so that was so reassuring. The cats were happy with her as seen by the photo updates she sent me.
She was always so prompt in communication and so easy to communicate with. And the house was well looked after. And so kind with some fresh bread and milk in the fridge on my return to save me rushing to the shops. I would definitely book ... MORE

We had a wonderful experience with Kate as our house/pooch sitter. From our initial meeting, and then through the visit it all went so well. Kate was respectful of our house, a wonderful communicator, and we could not recommend her more highly. Our two terriers seemed to enjoy her company too.
Kate was a delight to meet. She took all instructions on board and everything was clean and neat when I arrived home a day earlier than expected. My cats adored her and it was evident she had taken care of them very well. The cats were happy, relaxed and well fed. The house was in very good condition, dishes done and room tidy. I would be more than happy to have Kate house sit for me in the future, and welcome enquires from anyone thinking of booking her.

Kate was everything we had hoped for in a sitter, especially as this was our first time using this service. Our two feline fur babies were relaxed and (dare I say) probably more spoiled in our absence without our 8 month old around taking the attention. Kate even went the extra mile to groom them and let them sleep on the bed. Normally we return from holiday and the cats have lost weight, not this time, they were fat and fluffier than before. Kate is a fabulous house and pet sitter who inspired confidence from the word go. She is caring and unflappable; our old dog had a health scare whilst she was in her care and she dealt with it brilliantly, keeping us in the loop whilst reassuring us and dealing with medications. Kate undertook a house sit for me recently whilst I was travelling overseas. As someone who works from home a few days a week, it was important to me to find someone who would be around for my fur baby. Kate was just the answer I needed! She sent me regular photos and updates on Millie whilst I was travelling and I came home to a clean and tidy house and more importantly, a very happy and content pupper. She even resurrected a dying pot plant for me!!

There is nothing more secure than having people at home while you're away. Get a house sitter.
