Married for 40 years this year 2023 we are currently living in the far north kerikeri..,, with a planned permanent move planned down to the south island, Dunedin in Sept. We moved to New Zealand just over seven years ago from the uk to be closer to our son and daughter and now grandchildren.
We are both UK and New Zealand citizens
We have taken on both short term and long term house sits over the past few years in NZ and OZ.
Back in the uk we have always had pets, from snakes, cats, birds , rats (yes rats) and dogs. Sadly our Jack Russell dog who was 18 years of age and not in the best of health was unable to make the move to NZ.......update : sadly we lost Bobbie a few years ago after a struggle with an infection, heart breaking news, she had a long life and was loved every day. Xx
We've been fortunate enough to have had house sit jobs ranging from a small apartment to a large farm and as far away as Cairns Australia.

Stephen and Lorraine
Stephen and Lorraine are professional house sitters, organised and diligent. The house was left immaculate and the animals happy. They are a lovely couple and I'd like to have them back, highly recommended.
WOW! Wow says it all. We returned home to our house in immaculate condition, pets well looked after and everything better than we could have wanted. Stephen and Lorraine kept in contact with us and provided regular reassuring updates while we were away. These updates were not expected but appreciated. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
There's just one word that sums up Stephen & Lorraine - Fabulous.
Our fur babies clearly loved them and appeared quite upset after they left! The house was spotless and I cannot speak highly enough of their communications, approach and attitude. Added to which, they are such lovely people.
All in all the perfect house sitters and I recommend them without any caveats and no negative comments at all.
Stephen and Lorraine are great sitters. They looked after the three dogs perfectly. Even sent photos to show us the dogs were settled The house was spotless when we came home.
We'd highly recommend them both and will hopefully be able to reconnect in the future

Stephen and Lorraine looked after our house and cat for 5 months. On our return the house was immaculate and Jack (the cat) had been extremely well cared for, I think he loves them as much as us now!
The paddock and lawns were all mowed and looking good.
These guys are very reliable and conscientious, I do not hesitate in recommending them for looking after your house and animals.
We have already booked them up for next year for another long house sit.

Stephen and Lorraine looked after our place over Christmas. Our fur babies were well looked after and the house was absolutely spotless on our return. Stephen and Lorraine went over and beyond and were able to handle anything that came up. They were great with communication and would be happy to have them back anytime.
Stephen and Lorraine were the perfect house sitters! So helpful and lovely when we met them before the sit and so good with everything during. The perfect balance of communication and they went above and beyond for our return. The house had never looked cleaner and the cat and the chucks were more than happy! They even left milk and bread for our return home. It made going on our honeymoon an absolute breeze - thank you both so much! Would recommend anyone to have them house sit.
Stephen and Lorraine are amazing. Such kind people who came to the rescue to look after a newly moved cat who had not yet settled when my friend Tams Dad got very sick. Their communication was incredible to both me and Tam. They were happy for us to call in and pick up forgotten stuff and be flexible in a constantly changing situation which happens in times like this. Stephen and Lorraine were great with our two dogs. They regularly phoned and sent us updates about anything they thought we should know about. They also often sent photos of the dogs and also our few sheep that they fed and moved for us when required. Highly recommend them.
Stephen and Lorraine are the greatest sitters I have had.
They love animals which is so important. They looked after our Stafif Charlie and our bits a Layla. Both our dogs are a wee bit cautious and wary. BUT they loved Stephen and Lorraine. I felt so comfortable leaving the dogs with them. They kept in contact sending pics and letting me know how they were. We found them easy to talk to very friendly.. Stephen and Lorraine are dream housesitters! From the first contact, they were open and willing to share information quickly, which provided reassurance that they were the right people. They asked lots of questions to ensure they wouldn't disrupt the cat's routine. Our cats were given lots of cuddles and attention and were clearly spoiled. The communication prior and during the sit was excellent.
Our dogs were very well exercised and cared for, they were super happy.
Stephen took it upon himself to cut the grass while we were away which wasn't expected at all but very much appreciated.
The house was immaculate and they even made sure there was fresh milk & bread for our return.

My sister came over to visit from the U.K. and we decided to book a long weekend away. We are very fortunate to have Stephen and Lorraine house sit on a regular basis through until Christmas. They made the effort to come and meet us prior to their stay. They keep in touch and have made the experience effortless for us.
Pepper is very happy with her new helpers. Nice touch to come home to fresh milk and bread as well as an immaculate house.
I would love to give Stephen and Lorraine 6 stars out of 5! They are a wonderful down to earth couple, for whom nothing is too much trouble. They mowed our 2 1/2 acres regularly, sprayed the fruit trees for us, and climbed ladders to help Lily our cat off the roof when she forgot how to! We also came home to a lovely clean house, milk in the fridge, and all my washing up to date! Thank you so much, would have you back any day!
Entrusting your home and family to a stranger can be very scary. When Stephen and Lorraine came for a pre- sit introduction we were confident they would do a great job. We were not wrong. They sent regular reports and pics of happy dogs and fixit jobs completed.
We arrived home to an immaculate house and grounds and very happy pets. and highly recommend Stephen and Lorraine to anyone looking for clean, honest, capable and totally reliable sitters. 12 out of 10 for everything!!!
We felt completely at ease intrusting our home to Stephen & Lorraine. While we were away a tap decided to leak and a pipe under the ashphalt burst - all taken care of by our competent house sitters. Communication was excellent during these mishaps and we received photos of our 2 cats from time to time which we really appreciated. When we arrived home it was so nice to find it freshly cleaned. There is nothing more secure than having people at home while you're away. Get a house sitter.
