Hello!

I’m Tara, a 32 year old lady originally from England. I moved to Australia about 4 and a half years ago and now live in Queensland as a Permanent Resident.

I work part-time hours for myself for my business offering cleaning and domestic assistance, and support work to people in need both on the Sunshine Coast and in and around Hervey Bay. Most of my clients are families with young children and pets, and NDIS participants. I love what I do and my clients are like friends to me now. In my past life in Cambridge, England I worked as an Events Coordinator at two Uni of Cambridge colleges and as a qualified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I also have a First-class undergraduate BSc degree in Psychology from a UK university.

I love animals and have had a number of pets in the past. I am organised, clean, tidy, positive, flexible and caring. I’m into fitness, cooking and nature. When housesitting, in the evenings I like to relax by cuddling up with the pets and enjoying watching a good series or movie on Netflix!

I started housesitting in 2019 and now use this website and another popular Australian one to arrange them through. In 2020-2021 I housesat pretty much every day for a year. I loved taking care of all the gorgeous pets and homes and felt a sense of reward by being able to do that for people whilst they enjoyed their holidays with peace of mind. I’ve looked after heaps of different types of animals from axolotl fish and hermit crabs to dogs, cats and chickens.

Myself and my partner, Chris are expecting to have our first baby at the end of March 2024 and as such I will be off work from February 2024 onwards.

My parents, Mark and Barbara, who are both in their 60s have come over from England and are staying in Australia for up to a year. They arrived on 4 March 2024 and have been in Perth and now are staying in QLD. I am looking for housesits for my parents to complete, but for some I will visit and spend time at daily, though I will stay in my own home nearby overnight. Myself and partner split our time living on the Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay so either location is great and we can be flexible. Myself and parents would spend most of our time relaxing at home and in the local area, spending quality time together as a family after having not seen in other in a couple of years. My parents do also plan to visit some cities as this is their first time visiting Australia and for those trips I will remain in Hervey Bay or on the Sunshine Coast.
