We are Mandy and Niall Macmillan, an active, retired, vegetarian, non-smoking couple, former residents of Mission Beach, north Queensland, Australia.
We were very house proud with our home, pool and garden and would ensure the same level of care with your home. Niall is an excellent handyman, whilst I am excellent at preparing the handyman list!
Although we are not dog owners ourselves, we love dogs and would happily walk and look after them, along with any other pet care required. Our preferred duration for a house and pet-sit is for 3-4 week periods.
We sold our Mission Beach house in October 2015 and subsequently challenged ourselves to living "homelessly" for two years getting around Australia and New Zealand via house-sitting.
We settled down in the NSW Hunter Valley for 2018 but now have itchy feet and will be looking out for house-sits in 2019.

Mandy and Niall looked after my elderly but spritely dog for 10days. They were great. Charming, kind and sensitive to Siddi and his old man ways. The house was immaculate on my return even some kitchen drawers had been tidied. If you get them to house sit for you I recommend giving them jobs to do. They like to keep busy and are happy to do so. I did not do this but they found things to do anyway.
I have been so lucky to have Mandy and Niall stay and look after our Maisy.
They were able to come to stay earlier & later than initially discussed after changes to flights unfortunately meant we were away for longer. The house and gardens were left in an immaculate condition with even a few little DIY jobs taken care of too.
Most importantly our little lady, Maisy was well taken are of.
They kept us informed of where Maisy had been walked and any plans they had if they were leaving ... MORE
I can't rate Mandy & Niall highly enough. They stayed on my little acreage for 6 weeks, looking after my house, land, alpacas, dog, cat & chickens.
I had regular updates & pics throughout the sit, they walked the dogs twice a day & took them swimming in the dam.
Best of all was the care they took of everything. I had multiple odd jobs that needed doing & they did them all, even some super finicky jobs I'd tried to do myself, they fixed up better than I'd done by half measure, so I can't ... MORE

And Mandy and Niall handled a major emergency with sensitivity, common sense, appropriateness and efficiency.
I can't speak highly enough of them.
We cannot recommend Mandy and Niall highly enough for anyone looking for housesitters! Communication was easy and frequent, they provided great updates including photos so we knew how everything was going while we were away. They walked the dogs multiple times each day and we came home to two very happy dogs! We booked Mandy/Niall for pet/housesitting from 19/3 - 7/4 unfortunately due to the Corona Virus and having to change our travel plans we had to cancel. Notifying Mandy/Niall in advance was our number one priority and they were most understanding. Between the 4 of us we were trending on the reason of caution. Not getting to meet all parties have been disappointing but rest assured that I will contact Mandy/Niall again, when all this is over and back to the new normality of travelling once ... MORE
As soon as we read Mandy and Niall's previous house sitting reviews we knew that they would be the perfect couple to look after our little dog Sophie, our chooks and our home and garden.
Sophie was walked at least twice a day and I am sure that she still misses Mandy and Niall's company.
Niall had asked us for some jobs to do around the house during their stay as they like to keep busy - so we asked them to paint the walls in our office, and they did a perfect job.
