24, Photographer, writer and experienced house-sitter!

Hello!
My name is Jonathan, and I am a British/French citizen living in Sydney. Having lived in Australia for over 4 years, I consider myself a local and love everything about my life here. I lived in Alice Springs (NT) for about a year before moving to Sydney in 2020. I'm looking to explore Australia by way of caring for your furry loved ones and houses! I believe house-sitting is the best way for me to relax and enjoy Australia as a local while helping out and giving back. I have remained in touch with all past house sits and formed good friendships, which led to recurring house sits.

I predominantly work remotely, which suits my adventurous soul down to the ground. My work life has taken me to far-flung places. I work as a freelance writer and photographer.

I initially came to Australia to play cricket semi-professionally in the NT. I spent 11 months living in Alice Springs, discovering the red centre and the not-so-red West MacDonnell ranges. I love hiking, sightseeing, and anything to do with the outdoors. Unsurprisingly, I'm a health freak and frequently work out and/or play cricket/basketball. I love cooking, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't casing your wine collection (that's my French heritage peeking through). I'm very appreciative of the peaceful, finer moments in life!

How I can help you: I love all animals. I have been fortunate enough to volunteer as a helper with kangaroos and wallabies in the NT, and I have a long history of owning and caring for pets. I have looked after everything from dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and domestic birds.

When looking after a house, I always treat it with as much care and love as I would my own. I am a very tidy person with borderline obsessive organisation! I'm very easy to communicate with as I'm always at the end of the phone. I'm very accommodating to various needs, and I always do my best to make leaving your pets with a new person as seamless and stress-free as possible. Being a photographer by day, I also send the best photo updates of your pets while you're away!

**I'm up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines, and I'm happy to take a test before the sit should you wish. I am also happy to acquire a police check if you would like extra reassurance prior to a sit.**

This was the first time we used Aussie Home Sitters to find someone to look after our home and cat. We had a good response and were very happy to invite Jon to stay. It all worked very well. Last minute scramble to replace our otiginal "sitter" left us a little nervous! How wrong we were! The"boys" very well cared for despite one being naughty. We were delighted with Jonathan's care. We have booked him again for October and hope he will be available "same time next year"!

Jonathan took a very good care of my cat and my apartment. My cat, Machic, was in great shape and mood both times I came back from travelling. The first time was around 8 days (in Jan 2020) and it went so well that I asked him again for my second travel end of Jan 2020.
