Jenn J McLeod - Author
59, Australian Novelist
64, Retired / Partner
You might have read one of my novels. I am Jenn J McLeod - Australian fiction writer and Jeannette (The J in Jenn J) is my partner of 38 years.
Now in our fifties/sixties, in 2004 we did the big sea change, buying a cafe in Sawtell (NSW) which we ran for four years, as well as establishing a dog-friendly B&B on our Bonville property.
It was then that I (Jenn) followed my dream to be published, and in 2013 (at 53) my debut novel made the #5 top selling list in Australia. I now have six published novels.

That's us in a nutshell. If you want to know more, please contact us. We have been on the road since August 2014 - a couple of grey nomads championing the 'leave no trace' philosophy and happy to park on your property in our caravan, or do in-house stays and look after your well-cared for property while you're away.
NOTE: Tasmania... we will NOT have our caravan. In-house jobs only.
We started with two white fluffy dogs, but for now we are (sadly) dog free, so if you have one (or more animals) we'd consider that a bonus!! In some instances we can store our van elsewhere, drive to you and live in-house. References available upon request.
If we come with Myrtle the Turtle - our van - pls note she is 25 foot long. (In the old 'she'll be right' measure we need a parking space about 10 metres long but with suitable entry and egress and turning room. Turning room applies to entrances.) We are tall, at 3.3 mtrs, so we must consider low trees over access roads etc, power lines and low bridges. (Power + drinking water + waste management requirement TBC).
We prefer to live in-house with longer stays, but if living in the van, we carry the appropriate 10 amp power adapter that allows us to safely plug into a regular house point, but if there is access to a 15 amp point, even better. Or we can store the van and come to you/your house.
Our career background - We've had careers in retail Loss Prevention and worked extensively in corporate security for a number of years, including the Hotel Intercontinental (Sydney) and the Darling Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre (Sydney).
A move into the public service saw Jeannette take on Motor Registry Area Business Manager (12 motor registries) and later she held an executive position with Births, Deaths & Marriages. I have worked with the RMS (NSW Roads) and NRMA Member Services in road safety and driver ed.
