A retired senior UK Police Officer and a retired HLTA in a school for children with complex needs, we have been free to travel for longer and more widely since our youngest left home for university and beyond.
We have been house-sitting in Australia to get away from the UK winter since 2013, initially so that Susan could go back to her roots in Victoria and show Stephen the country of her childhood, but every year since then because Stephen has fallen in love with Oz, hook line and sinker!
We are very professional in our approach, seeking to exchange our time for the opportunity to experience different locations and cultures, and meet interesting people and their pets. We have been favoured with positive experiences and made some life-long friendships along the way.
We have always had cats and lost our last two aged 19, so it is a joy to care for other people's beloved pets.
In view of our professions we have had full Police checks and impeccable references are available.
Because we use various sites, accept sits based on personal recommendations and often have repeat sits, our full history is not shown on this site, so we also have private web pages which have much more detail of our experience and references etc. ( we will happily provide a link if requested).

We left our house, dog and cat in very capable hands with Stephen and Susan. They were the perfect house sitters, both the house and our pets were very well looked after. Communication was great- just the right amount, we felt very confident leaving to go away on holidays- Highly recommend Stephen and Susan.

Communication beforehand was fantastic, looked after our animals and home beautifully and poor old dusty was sad to see them go.

Stephen and Susan were amazing Housesitters. The house was cleaner when we got back than when we left it! They were extremely caring of my cat and kept me up to date. Such lovely people and would highly recommend.
Susan and Stephen are first class house sitters. They are both lovely, responsible and interesting people. They looked after our dog, cat, house, garden and pool for a week and we couldn't fault them. They were great at communicating with use throughout the whole process. They even fixed a few things around the house, cleaned our car like it's never been cleaned before and filled up the tank. Exceptional house sitters. We would love to have them come and stay again.
Stephen and Susan looked after our house for 2 weeks while we were overseas. They stayed with us in the house the night before we went away and we were instantly assured of their friendliness, energy and enthusiasm. They went above and beyond what was expected of them. Upon arriving home, we found our house, gardens, lawn and pool were very well cared for - even the glass around the pool, and the windows were cleaned. What a pleasure our first experience it's this site has been. We were fortunate enough to have Stephen and Susan come and sit for us over the 2016 Christmas break and look after our home and our fur baby. They are an absolutely delightful couple that looked after our dog and our home wonderfully. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
