We have been married more than 30 years and have owned and maintained our own home during that time. We originally met in Scouts as teenagers and went on to become Scout and Venture leaders. After leaving school Derek worked for one of the main Banks in Ireland and for the last 11 years has been a self-employed IT Project Manager. Jane is a qualified Registered General Nurse and for the last 12 years has run her own company providing health care training and consultancy. We are non smokers and fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Now that our children are grown we have decided to take a "Silver Gap Year" in which we plan to spend time traveling and discovering about lifestyles in other places.

We love animals and can care for most, growing up we had dogs, cats, fish, a tortoise and even bred budgies. Together we have reared three wonderful daughters, two happy cats, rabbits, hamsters and a lot of fish.

We have loved our house sitting experiences in Europe and New Zealand, receiving 5 star reviews from the home owners minding cats, dogs and even Alpacas. We love playing and cuddling with pets but we prefer not to have them sleep in the bedroom with us. We both enjoy spending time learning about and exploring new places and meeting new friends. We believe that adventure in our lives expands our horizons. We enjoy walking, cultural activities, the outdoors and photography.

We are excited to experience house sitting in Australia as we believe it will play an important role in our travels this year. We hope to spend a few months exploring Australia and see housesitting as an opportunity to immerse ourselves in local communities and have some downtime from travelling.

We can provide lots of information to homeowners and are happy to speak with them on a video call until they can get to know us a bit better and feel comfortable with us. We are very responsible and well organized, good at communication and leave very little to chance.

We will be sure that we know everything that you expect when we housesit for you and make sure that we carry out all your instructions to the letter to ensure your home, furry, feathered or scaly friends are well cared for.

We were very lucky to have Jane and Derek stay and look after our home and our cat. The communication was excellent from the start, including an initial video call and later a drop-in to familiarise with the house, and then updates throughout the time we were away. The house was immaculate when we returned, and the cat was as happy and settled as ever. We definitely appreciated having Jane and Derek as our housesitters - thank you both!

Jane and Derek were fabulous house sitters. Friendly and very happy from the onset, we felt very confident leaving our house and 2 cats on their care. Jane and Derek were the House Sitters of my dreams. Kind and very caring of my dog, recovering from surgery and left my home immaculate.
