FIVE years and more than 100 house sits after we sold our Melbourne CBD apartment and anything that wouldn't fit into two suitcases, we are very proud to consistently receive reviews like those.

If you want your precious pets treated with genuine affection, and your valuable home with the utmost respect, we would love to talk with you.

We are Kirsty Carter and Lawrie Masterson. We love animals and it has been our privilege to care for dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, ages and medical conditions during our house sitting journey. There also have been a few fish, guinea pigs and chickens, although we have to admit we draw the line at big farm animals. We know that all animals have independent personalities that must be understood and respected if they are to be cared for properly. Usually that involves clean litter, ample and suitable food, plenty of fluids, exercise ... and, most importantly, lots of affection.

Having owned or rented numerous properties, apartments and houses, we also know how to care for homes, furniture and gardens. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers, house-proud, self-sufficient and reliable. Again, we consider it a privilege to be invited into other peoples' homes, and we revel in the opportunities house sitting gives us to experience local communities and lifestyles.

Briefly, our backgrounds go like this ...

Kirsty: Former CEO in the not-for-profit sector. Loves to exercise. Since she "retired", has been learning to build websites and embarked on studies in computer science. Now a vegan and has discovered cooking.

Lawrie: Long career as a journalist and editor, including 14 years in Los Angeles. Cricket tragic. Has been learning French. Not a vegan, but has discovered Kirsty's cooking.

Eventually we will settle again in Melbourne, where, rumour has it, the apartment we bought "off the plan" will be ready to occupy in 2024. In the meantime, we will travel and house sit and that might mean spending time at your place.

Serious stuff: We can provide police checks on request. We are fully vaccinated.

Wow! Kirsty and Lawrie were the perfect sitters. Not only did they spend three months lovingly caring for our big, high-energy GSD, a cat and five chooks, they kept our gardens and home in better condition than when we left it. We were so lucky to find such thoughful, considerate house sitters to take care of everything while we were away for three and a half months. A huge thank you to Lawrie and Kirsty for house and animal sitting for nearly a month. They kept in contact regularly before and during the housesit and sent photos of my dog with them at the beach. Kirsty and her partner lawrie cared for our two maltese cross dogs, Robbie and Ryder in Dec 2021. We were impressed with the level of communication both before and during the sit. They sent photos of "out boys" which showed them very relaxed and at ease. Kirsty and Lawrie really catered to each dogs separate needs and it was obvious on out return that they had bonded well with the dogs.

This was our first house sitter experience ever, so it was a bit daunting at first, but Kirsty and Lawrie made it it very easy. Their introduction email was already very inviting, we had some video conversations via WhatsApp and met a day before we went on leave. I felt very comfortable handing over the key and leaving my two senior cats into their hands, even with a cat that had some tummy issues at the time. We were very happy with the care Kirsty & Laurie provided to our siamese cat, Kasem and to our home. We returned home to a happy cat and the home in the same condition that we had left it. Unfortuntely due to the current events with the Coronavirus our holiday was cancelled and Kirsty & Lawrie's sit was interrupted. We all had to live together for a while. What an engaging, open and heart-warming couple who, under extreme circumstances, still made the most of their sit showing no hesitation to jump in and help out with the household while trying to enjoy their stay with us.
