My name's Dean, lovely to meet you.
About myself, I'm a 42 year old professional male who is well travelled and mildly introverted by nature.
I acknowledge that some home owners may desire an older sitter, however, I'm not the typical 42 year old, as I'm a homebody who's currently attempting to write a book so crave alone time to focus on getting my thoughts onto paper.
Due to living overseas for almost 8 years, I'm very familiar with house sitting and have done so now (both here and abroad) on and off since 2014, so very experienced in this space.
I've had the fortune of owning and operating businesses in both North and South America, with my tech company also focused in the accommodation industry (Wi-Fi) related.
If you have pets, no problem, as I LOVE animals with my family having many over the journey, I'm very active (rising each day at 5 am) so (multiple) daily walks are always on offer, as well as company due to the ability to work from home (a benefit of taking said sabbatical is I do consulting for 3 hours in the evening 4 days per week) so cuddles a plenty.
You’ll be able to see I have many VERIFIED reviews on this site from home owners like yourself with multiple references across a wide range of varying sits, and it would be a pleasure to provide you with information/insights from others who have experienced what I have to offer, with many of them willing to chat over the phone if that's something you so desire also.
I believe the main thing to focus on when confirming a sit is to ensure that you, the home owner, has as much peace of mind possible prior to, and when away.
So with this in mind I like taking the time to come and meet you and your pets and a few occasions so you're able to see first hand how we connect.
Whilst away, I like to provide daily videos of how your pets are doing and also welcome visits from friends, family or loved ones to the home so they can see first hand and give you additional feedback from their point of view.

P.S - I have a mild case of OCD with cleanliness and am also very house proud, so your house will be well looked after as it were my own.
Dean was our first experience with AussieHousesitters and it has been a really positive experience. We have not been able to fault his attention to our animals , home and communication. We would have him here again in a heart beat. The animals clearly loved him and when we arrived back home our place was immaculate.The addition of a vase of flowers to welcome us back was a real winner. Thank you Dean from all of us.
This was my first house sitting experience and Dean has set a very high bar for others.😊His communication was terrific and he kept me updated on how my collie and terrier were coping without me. I think they preferred Dean😂. Dean also had to cope with my builder doing some work at my house and he was understanding and flexible. I returned to a spotless home and clean dogs. Dean is an unbelievable house sitter - we were so very lucky to have him take care of our animals (a very energetic dog and a cat) whilst we were overseas. He was attentive with our pets (who are our number one priorities!), sent us plenty of videos and communicated with us regularly. Dean was so easy to deal with and I know our animals miss him (haha!). I would absolutely have Dean back to housesit and look after the animals. I genuinely look forward to having Dean again!
Dean did a great job looking after our two cocker spaniels for a month. His communication was excellent as he sent videos every couple of days which really put our mind at ease. Dean also went out of his way to visit us on multiple occasions to ensure our sensitive boy was comfortable with him prior to the sit. Our boys loved Dean and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!
Dean was amazing from the moment we meet we felt so comfortable and knew Dean would be a great fit for our girl.

Firstly, Dean was great! He had awesome communication throughout the process and provided lots of videos of our fur boy while we were away. Our place was also spotless when we arrived home, even with fresh sheets on the bed! Unexpected but very appreciated.

Dean was the perfect housesitter for novice users like me. We've never left Matcha, nor our house, in the hands of essentially a stranger before, so it was quite a daunting experience in the lead-up.
Dean was so reassuring during the meet and greet and I could tell he would get along so fine with Matcha from the get-go. He was not fazed by my tiger-mum instruction manual, which was a huge plus! What can I say - from the minute I met Dean and started chatting to him, he put my mind at ease and I just knew he would be perfect to look after my little fur man!
He was so prompt with communication and replies from the get go and while I was away. And most importantly came back to a happy/content cat and a house that looked as sparkly clean as I had left it. Would 1000% try and get Dean to sit again (if he is ever free haha) thank you again!!
We had a terrific experience when Dean housesat for us. He looked after our 3 year old pup so well that we worried she wouldn't want us to come home. Excellent communication. All the neighbours loved him. Have no hesitation in recommending Dean, we feel very lucky to have found him.
Dean was the best! Amazing comms from start to finish. Had a few catch ups before we left to make sure we were 100% comfortable and happy leaving our dog with him for a month. Dean looked after our house and border collie dog, Scout for the month of May and we couldn't be happier. He communicates extremely well before the 'hand over' date and sends regular updates, photos and videos throughout his stay. All of this means that we did not worry about anything and just enjoyed our holiday. On our return, the house was spotlessly clean and warm. We have two dogs who like most pets have enjoyed the benefits of having us home full time during COVID. We were understandably nervous leaving them to go on holiday but thanks to Dean we needn't have worried - he was amazing in keeping a normal routine for them but also showering them with attention and love! Dean was a great sitter for my home and pets.
He communicated regularly, took good care of the plants indoor and outdoor, kept the house spotlessly clean, and most importantly, cared for my dog and parrot as his own.
The problem with such a house sitter is that a good recommendation puts him more in demand, and hence lower availability for my next sit. However, it's incumbent on me to recommend Dean very highly.
Dean was an absolutely fantastic house and pet sitter! Our cat Khan can be quite anxious when we travel, but our minds were set at ease with daily video updates of a very happy and relaxed cat! Dean took great care of Khan and of the house also, with fresh bedding on our arrival home late in the evening, and no cleaning required upon our return.

Dean proved to be an excellent house sitter. He fully engaged with my two hounds, conscientiously following (quite complicated) feeding instructions and energetically walking and socialising them. He even allowed anxious Brigette to share his bedroom. I highly recommend him and hope to use him again in June.
Dean was absolutely incredible. He was looking after our house and most importantly our 2 dogs for 3.5 weeks. I have never left my dogs with anyone other then my family, and the idea of leaving them with a stranger was very nerve racking and anxiety inducing for me. Dean really helped me out with short notice of a house set! And thankfully it worked out poetically for us. Initial meeting. He was super friendly and such a gentleman loved to meet the cats! Throughout the whole stay, his communication was second to none!! So many cat photos, and updates! Was greatly appreciated as I did become homesick being away ha!
On my return everything was just as I left it if not better! (His OCD definitely not a bad thing here haha)
