I am an experienced house and pet sitter with excellent references, police check, working with children checks (Victoria and NSW) and many private return requests. I am fully vaccinated against Covid 19.
I first joined Aussie House Sitters as a home owner to find a sitter for my (now deceased) Jack Russell. I had two wonderful sitters and believe in this service which brings such peace of mind to home and pet owners.
I'm a retired corporate lawyer and recently completed a PhD. I started house sitting to build a great set of references to house sit overseas when my thesis was completed. Rental income from my own home supported me financially while I completed my thesis.. Covid 19 changed everything. I am now back living in my own home and content to travel in Australia. I am not actively seeking housesitting but will consider housesitting offers that you think may appeal to to me because I've enjoyed having the companionship of animals and getting to know new areas of Sydney and beyond. I am a responsible and house proud homeowner. I will be at your home full-time to take good care of your home and pets. Because I am house proud, I will only accept bookings from other homeowners with very clean, well maintained homes. I am a non-smoker and a vegetarian. I have an unblemished drivers licence but no longer own a car.
I have experience caring for dogs, cats, chickens, fish and exotic birds. I also have a lot of knowledge of Australian wildlife having been a volunteer rescuer and transporter for Wildlife Victoria for a few years and as a foster carer for a wildlife shelter in Melbourne.
I can also maintain a garden and a pool having had my own for own large garden and pool for many years.

Fiona was the perfect housesitter for me and my two Burmese cats, Poppy and Molly. I felt blessed and very lucky not to have a worry in the world while I was away for 6 weeks. Fiona took care of the house, garden and my two girls like they were her own.

Fiona was an experienced sitter and as this was our first house/pet sitting experience, she made us feel very comfortable and at ease. She communicated well and we came home to happy pets and a nice clean house! We also had a chook that unexpectedly needed some extra care and Fiona managed that beautifully. Fiona cared for our home and our two dogs for two weeks. Fiona was very easy to communicate with, both before and during our holiday. The house seemed cleaner upon our return, and the dogs looked pampered, walked and content. I could tell Fiona had been grooming them because their coats were extra soft and shiny. Fiona was great to deal with and was able to just walk in without having seen the house (except FaceTime walk through). She just picked up where we left off. The dogs were very happy on our return and the house lovely and tidy. I would recommend Fiona to anyone if they need a sitter.

Fiona was a Godsend at short notice. She looked after my old dog very well, including offering to drive him to a local park as walking is getting difficult. Fiona kept excellent communication and looked after my home and dog very well. She knows quite a bit of useful animal information as well! I could not have asked for a more perfect house & dog sitter than Fiona. Such a lovely person who I felt comfortable with immediately and the dogs adored. Nothing was too much trouble, from dropping me at the bus stop on the morning I left at 6.00am, to home cooking for my girls, walking them twice daily, brushing them and just being great company for them. Fiona stayed at our house in Burradoo for two weeks to look after our Burmese cat and Staffy puppy. All prior correspondence with her to make arrangements for the housesit was timely and filled us with confidence that we were leaving our home and pets in the best hands possible.
