Looking to house sit in Canberra and surrounding area.
I am a Canberra local who has been house sitting for over 4 years with sits ranging from 3 days to 6 months.
A huge lover of all animals that will keep your garden exactly how it looked from the moment you went on holiday. On your return your house will be cleaner than when you left.
Every sit is treated with the utmost respect as if it is my place and my pets.
I am a 55yo male who does not smoke or drink and leads a very quiet and healthy lifestyle.
In dec/jan 2020 I had to look after a place for 5 weeks with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 5 chickens, 2 rabbits, 2 rats, 1 lizard, multiple fish and a massive front and back garden in the middle of summer so I am sure I will be able to look after your place exactly as you would hope.
Many of my bookings are from people who make the initial contact with me asking if I can look after their house.

My two cats were very lucky to have Ian looking after them while we were away on a family holiday. Both cats were happy and well cared for and the house was all in good order when we got home. Ian did a fantastic job and I’d love for him to sit for us again next time we are away!

Big thanks to Ian who did a great job looking after my 16 month old nut case Kelpie. Ian kept us reassured with lots of Photos of Cooper enjoying himself. We were away 6 weeks and Cooper and Ian really seemed to hit it off... when we got back the house was lovely and clean and Cooper was very happy and content with life... we would definitely have Ian back anytime. Ian is so easy going and great to communicate with so we had a lovely holiday knowing that Cooper was in good hands
I was quite nervous about leaving my cat after the last time I had to leave home. I was gone for a month and he did not do well having me gone for so long. I was overjoyed when I came home to a spotless house, and an extremely content cat. Couldn't have been happier with Ian! Highly recommend.
I was very lucky to have Ian sit for me and look after my much-loved border collie. He was very flexible when my dates had to change quite last minute, and I was always comfortable and secure that my place was in great hands. Very easy to deal with and responsive.
Ian sat our two cats for us on extremely short notice and was better than my partner could have possibly expected. He provided frequent updates on the pets and left the place cleaner than when he found it. I highly recommend Ian!
Ian recently looked after our dog Ben, and our home for a week and then the following weekend also. We came home to a happy dog and a neat tidy home. Ian is easy to communicate with and quick to respond to queries etc. I would highly recommend Ian.
Ian has a wonderful easy going nature which made it very easy to entrust him with my two emotional staffys. During the 4 weeks I was away he updated me via text and sent photos of the dogs who were clearly loving the attention and not missing me at all. The house was immaculate upon my return and I would happily recommend Ian to anyone that wanted a house sit. I know I will be keen to ask him again sometime in the near future.!
Ian was an excellent pet-sitter. He cared for my 6 cats for 8 weeks at relatively short notice. All the cats adapted to his presence, including a former feral, which tells me they felt comfortable and safe with him. Communication was easy and Ian was prompt with replies. I didn't expect Ian to tend to the garden but he did mow the lawns, which was great. There were no issues with the place when I returned and I'd happily recommend Ian and use him again for future sits.
Ian was very responsive to our listing and provided good information up front and when visiting us at our home to give us the confidence to book him for our 3 month house sitting requirements as well as taking care of our dog.
The house was left clean tidy with no issues or concerns. It would have been nice if the lawn was mown and some weeding done but we also understand it had been raining for a while in the lead up to our return.

Ian has been a great housesitter for me. He came to meet the fur family the weekend before I went away and his visit set my mind at ease that I had picked the right person for my family. Ian was great to deal with. His communication was prompt and he was quite flexible when we had to change our dates and also when we added in a new kitten to the mix. He sent photos of how content our boys were and greatly eased our mind that they were being looked after so well. It was a big advantage that Ian also lived in Canberra so was able to pop over prior to the house sit to meet us and be introduced to Jack and Luther. Ian made great friends with our dogs and left our home neat and tidy. He communicated well with us so we knew the dogs were happy. I would recommend Ian and would be happy for him to sit again for us.
Ian was an excellent house sitter - we were worried about our young 'needy' siamese cat but he won her over and looked after our house and our loved ones. He left the house in immaculate condition (cleaner than we left it). I have no hesitation in recommending Ian as a sitter.
Probably the strongest recommendation that I can say - it was like I hadn't even left my cats for a long weekend away. Ian did a great job looking after my 2 cats and my house was also well looked after.

Ian looked after the beagle Boys and Cleo as they were his own. On our return after 2 weeks away, the house clean and tidy and most importantly the dogs were settled and chilled.
Communications were good and I would have no hesitation recommending Ian for other sits or having him back in our home.

Ian is a lovely man who looked after our dogs while we went away for a week. The house was in a very good state when we arrived home and he kept good communication with us while we were away. We absolutely recommend Ian to anyone.
Ian recently completed a house sit for me, looking after my home and animals. From the first meeting, Ian was warm and friendly towards my two little dogs. He looked after them with care and affection, and my home was left in a lovely condition. Ian updated me throughout the week as to how everything was going which was another peace of mind action for me to know my dogs were in good hands. We are most grateful to Ian for looking after our house in Reid for two weeks. Bertie and Matilda, out two cats plus our 7 chooks were lovingly cared for. I'd like to thank Ian for being a reliable house and cat minder for me in June. Everything was as shipshape as possible in my 'busy' house, when I came home. My cat Baby was well cared for and I was very glad to receive a couple of messages to say how things were going. I'm glad my cat was able to give Ian bulk affection! Ian took care of my home and three pets for a five week period and then another week shortly after.
His communication is impeccable and my two Jack Russell's and my tabby cat were thoroughly looked after. The house was immaculate both times when I came home.

We have a large garden including vegetable patch, two dogs, five chickens, a lizard, two rabbits, two rats and a cat. Ian was a fantastic house sitter. Many of of our animals are elderly and we were away for five weeks over Australia's worst summer ever. Smokey, hot, dry and many bushfires. We returned to a garden that had been looked after and animals that were relaxed and happy. Ian was very prompt in his communication from the initial interaction. He was very responsible, well presented, easy going, and very friendly, my 3 dogs were very comfortable around him from the first meeting.
Ian took care of our 3 mature age border collies, as well as maintaining our house which he returned to us clean and tidy.
We were very satisfied with the care of our dogs and home while we were away on holidays.
I would recommend Ian.
There is nothing more secure than having people at home while you're away. Get a house sitter.
