Having had many pets and a love of animals as well as being experienced home exchangers (since 2004) we would welcome the opportunity to take care of your pets and home. We both enjoy traveling, yoga, tennis and reading. Tekla is an accomplished painter and volunteers annually at a Vietnamese orphanage. Bill enjoys hiking and volunteers at a dog sanctuary.

We've had a 16-acre lifestyle block grazing horses and calves. And we have always had a dog or two. We are avid bird lovers and prior to the Christchurch earthquakes had a large aviary, plus hens and rabbits, and our beloved Swiss Shepherd who passed away recently. We have traveled extensively in the US, Australia and Europe via a home exchange programme (over 100 exchanges since 2004 ranging from studio apartments to lifestyle blocks) and have looked after numerous homes and their pets - dogs, sheep, birds, cats, chickens, cows, fish, horses, goats, sheep, alpacas and worm farms.

We spend 5-6 months (May - Oct) of the year in Australia/Europe and are interested in WA, QLD, the NT but would consider anywhere. In 2024 we will be in Europe June - Sept and are only looking in WA from late Sept- Oct.

We couldn’t have asked for better sitters than Bill & Tekla. Having 3 high energy kelpies always worries us a bit when involving other people but Bill & Tekla were more then capable & truly up for the task. Taking them on new adventures every day. Places we didn’t even know. I felt so confident & happy leaving them in their hands as it didn’t take them long to pick up on & get to know each of their quirks. Thank you Bill & Tekla for coming and staying at our home. Bill & Tekla went above and beyond to care for our animals, especially Jasper our cat who is becoming quite elderly & frail. Communication was always easy and thorough before meeting and during the sit. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bill & Tekla for any housesit, your animals will be well looked after and if you're really lucky you'll get a bowl of delicious taco soup for dinner on your return. We were so appreciative of the way that Bill and Tekla took care of our home and animals. We received daily updates and photos of our dogs, who were taken for long daily walks, played with often, and received lots of affection. On arrival home, our house was spotless, and a beautiful meal had been made for us. We would have Bill and Tekla back in our home anytime, our experience with them couldn’t have been more positive.

Bill & Tekla were delightful. The house was left spotless and they communicated to us regularly about the cats and clearly looked after them so well - it was a pleasure having them at the house. They also really enjoyed exploring locally which is really nice as there is so much to see. Wonderful people :)

Bill was our very first house/pet sitter and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our dog, Chilli, was well cared for and taken on some wonderful walks. Bill kept us informed with photos of our girl every couple of days, so we didn't worry. On our return, the house was just as we'd left it, 3 weeks earlier - clean and tidy, with plants healthy and thriving. We would welcome Bill back as a sitter any time.

Bill and Tekla are amazing , warm , kind and lovely people who looked after our home and most importantly our 3 amazing fur babies. We came home to a lovely clean house and 3 very contented and happy babies. It is such a pleasure to meet such a wonderful couple who are so thoughtful and caring. it was so great to have a holiday and have no concerns about the care of our babies.
