We are active retirees, fit and healthy non-smokers who can go for months without an alcoholic drink, but barely a week without an ice cream, although a bar of chocolate is an acceptable substitute. We prefer the discovery of new places and cultures at a leisurely rather than at a tourist pace.

After 8 years of house sitting, both overseas and in Australia, recent circumstances worldwide have resulted in our buying an RV and has brought forward our plans to tour Australia.

We are completely open for offers to sit on our available dates and if you have a tempting proposition we will listen. We have an RV and can normally be very flexible on locations and dates. We will always try to fit in with your plans, and any unforeseen changes. At present we are looking at a winter trip to Queensland or somewhere with warmer weather.

We have been married for over 40 years, Angela with a background in teaching followed by aviation security, the most familiar aspect being the screening of departing passengers, and David running his own business for nearly 30 years. We hold dual UK and NZ citizenship having emigrated to NZ in 2002 with our daughters, now both living independently.

We were travelling for eight years, firstly back to the UK, followed by Cyprus, Thailand and a Canadian winter. After this we combined international sits with many Australian sits in Victoria looking after cats, dogs (including rescue dogs), rabbits, frogs, birds and fish. House sitting enables us to travel, meet new people and sample the way of life in places we may not have otherwise considered. It is giving us the opportunity to provide a worthwhile service where everyone has peace of mind from the outset, knowing the house sit will be done well.

We are a reliable, completely honest couple who take responsibility seriously. We have taken a pride in our own homes for over 40 years and will always treat your home, garden and pool with that same care and attention to detail. We have lived in properties with large gardens for over 20 years and get pleasure from keeping the area neat and tidy. We have also had swimming pools and wood burning stoves, so they won't be a problem. Having had a cat 'own us' for 16 years, and with dogs seeming to instinctively know Angela is a kindred spirit we have considerable experience. Our track record with goldfish though leaves a little to be desired, but the number of adult rabbits sometimes increase in numbers overnight.

Our lifetime experiences have given us the knowledge and confidence to deal with unexpected events and problems that occur, either by fixing them or recognising when expert help is required. We are energy and water conscious, being prudent by nature possibly due to some extent by our upbringing in post-war Britain and fully aware of our environmental obligations. We are well organised, good communicators, computer literate and with a sound understanding of technology. We use Skype, Zoom and Signal to keep in touch with relatives and friends and would hope to use these to communicate seamlessly with you.

Our travels have made us very adaptable to change and appreciative of other cultures, values and ways of life. Other than travelling our interests include walking in English farmland, Cypriot limestone scrub, Thai jungle, Canadian forests at minus 7 C, and playing bridge (mostly badly) for enjoyment. We spend time each day on the internet and would appreciate the availability of broadband connection.

Our first house sit was of 6 months duration, in Canada, and as we often do longer sits we don't build up huge quantities of sitting references and what we have are spread over three house-sitting sites as we have done sits in the States, Singapore, England, Europe, Malaysia and Dubai amongst others.
