Sandy Rex - kindness and expertise that's hard to find -

"We have a 13 year old golden retriever who is as dear and gentle as he is stuck in his ways bone stubborn - he is also just a little spoilt - sound familiar?
To look after him you have to be a bit the same - perhaps not the spoilt part or the stuck in your ways part, but definitely the gentle and equally stubborn part - the kind that comes with years of experience. You also need a sense of humour but more than anything - a gentle hand and bucket loads of patience. As he has aged we have found it more difficult to ask friends (who we want to keep) or to leave him with strangers - until we found Sandy. Sandy nicknamed him "His Royal Highness" and after two stints of looking after him, I am not sure if he really minded if we returned or not. Not only did Sandy care for HRH with the utmost care and attention, she left our home spotless - in fact I think it was cleaner than when she arrived! Sandy accommodated our changes of dates, was easy to communicate with, made no fuss - despite COVID creating havoc in the back ground with her own arrangements - and was just delightful company for the short time we spent together - HRH would certainly agree.
We cannot recommend Sandy highly enough to look after your home and or pets - especially those who need a gentle, patient hand and we hope she will come back"

Sandy was really fantastic and great fun to communicate with. She looked after our new and not very house trained puppy, Tilly plus our 4 year old Miya, both Chocolate labs and very active. Sandy was happy to keep them exercised at our own house ... we have 2.5 acres. My 'girls' were happy and healthy after our return and were, we know looked after beautifully. Sandy is a great communicator so kept us up to date with the dogs activities on an almost daily basis. We would love to have Sandy back again ... but she's very much in demand. I can't recommend Sandy highly enough.

To Whom it may concern,

From the first moment we spoke with Sandy her sense of humour and upbeat approach captivated us and made our choice very easy. Our two dogs, Golden Retrievers Prue and Bonnie welcomed Sandy to the house and our holiday of almost 6 weeks began.Seeing how organised and knowing of dog behaviour Sandy was, based on her many previous experiences made us very secure in our mind, knowing that she would be able to give the girls the care and attention they need in our absence.

We agreed to regular communications about the girls and felt we had made a new friend. As our girls came to us from another home and were still adjusting to their new home, we knew Sandy would be able to continue their adaptation with good rules and boundaries. We arrived to our home being spotless and a delicious soup and quiche prepared for our first day back. Sandy also helped us in arrival and departure arrangements by making herself available to bring us to the train station, this really made for a carefree start and finish to the holiday. Not only did Sandy keep the girls in good health, she also made friends with the neighbours and probably met most of the neighbourhood during her many walks with the girls.

We thank Sandy for staying for such an extended period of time and the reliability with which Sandy followed through with her commitment to stay with the girls, meant our holiday went without a glitch or worry about the girls.

Recently we had the pleasure of having Sandy look after our home and 18 month old Cavoodle the light of our life.
This is a big step turning over your home and your pet to a person you have never met.
We should never worried about this as Sandy was the perfect person to look after our requirements.
Bonnie our dog bonded with her immediately and was very sorry when she headed home.
Our house was left in immaculate condition and a home cooked meal was waiting for us on our return.rec
We sincerely hope Sandy will be available next time we head off and I would have no hesitation in recommending Sandy.
Happy to discuss in person.

Sandy looked after our precious 12 month old Cavalier King Charles (Fleur) and our townhouse for 2 weeks and gave us complete peace of mind to enjoy our holiday.
From the first contact she appeared to be everything we wanted and this was completely realised during our time away and on our return.
She has a great sense of humour so delightful to deal with.
She bonded and coped with our little treasure and kept her well and happy.
We only have praise for her abilities and all at home was in perfect order on our return.
Sandy also socialised with our friends and their pets to their delight.
We highly recommend Sandy for the best love and care of any adored pet and home.

Sandy came and looked afteer our home and the most important job to us was to look after our cat and dog, which Sandy did. My 12-year old dog, Riley, and our 10-year old cat, Louis , were extremely well looked after with lots of pats, cuddles and walks. Sandy was a delight to communicate with and when we arrived home, you would have thought the cleaners had been and gone. It was lovely to come home to.

We were fortunate enough that Sandy came and had dinner with us the night before we went overseas, and we knew straightaway that Sandy was the right girl for the job.

We would certainly love to have Sandy again, and we appreciated all she did for us.

Please feel free to call me if you have any queries.

Wellington, December2016/January2017

Sandy did a house sit in our Wellington home for several weeks, and she was everything that her previous referees had said about her - tidy, trustworthy, does what is requested but will also go the extra mile. How lovely it was to walk back into a spotless home, with food left for us in the freezer. She'd also taken the initiative about contacting us about an unforeseen issue which we really appreciated. This was the first time we'd had a complete stranger house sit for us and Sandy couldn't have been more understanding and helpful in guiding us on what information to provide. Would we use her again? In a heartbeat. Thanks so much Sandy!

Newcastle, October 2016

Sandy stayed in our home whilst we went overseas and looked after our two Labradors. They could not have been placed into better hands. They were walked every day without fail and Sandy even placed fly strike ointment onto one of their ears and gave one her medicine - not the most glamorous job!

I would highly recommend Sandy as a house sitter to anyone. Our house was immaculate when we returned and she even provided a summary report on the dogs and house upon our return.

Sandy was friendly, punctual and very trust worthy. We knew as soon as we met her we were leaving our house in capable hands. Would love to have Sandy back to house sit!

Sandy looked after our spaniel Rusty and our house for 3 weeks July - August 2016. The dog really liked her from the start. She is very experienced at caring for dogs of all sorts and we arrived home to a very happy and contented Rusty. The house was amazingly clean and tidy, all the ironing done, plants watered .
Sandy is very resourceful and competent and handled a couple of unexpected events ( car flat battery and potentially disastrous loose interior door handle ) very well.
Sandy is pleasant and cheerful and efficient and we would have no hesitation in recommending her as a house/dog sitter.
We would be happy to answer any questions from her potential clients

Sandy Rex looked after our beautiful Cavalier King Charles dog, Bonnie from the 25th May, 2016 for 6 weeks while we were away in the USA. From the start it was a wonderful experience and which gave us great confidence in her care. Sandy arrived the day before our departure and spend time with us, walking Bonnie with us and having a meal together.
While we were away Sandy and Bonnie bonded amazingly and Sandy addressed some unexpected medical issues in a exceptional way with excellent communication with our Vet. The Vet was most impressed with with her commitment to Bonnie's care.
Our home was immaculate on our return. We strongly recommend Sandy to anyone wanting the best care for their dog while they are away. We learnt that Sandy has a great sense of humour and likes to embed herself in the local community where she is staying.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Sandy Rex has just completed a third house sit for us for a period of 6 weeks during our absence overseas and, as on previous occasions, has been exemplary in every possible way.

Our main concern is the care of our dog with whom she has a wonderful relationship. Sandy administered chemotherapy and other medications every day and our vet remarked on the excellent condition of our dog after six weeks with Sandy.

Sandy left our house, as usual, in a spotless condition, collected our mail from the post office and watered our vast gardens in a very hot and dry period. Everything looked in a very healthy condition on our return.

Sandy kindly left us lovely food in the fridge for our arrival which we readily appreciated after a long journey and for this we thank her.

As we have said previously, Sandy is really the perfect house sitter and we are extremely pleased to have found her among all the people on offer.

We do hope that she will have the time from her busy commitments to sit for us on our next trip overseas.

We are happy to furnish a verbal reference at any time and our telephone number can be obtained from Sandy.

Yours sincerely,

Our dog was from a shelter and has a lot of anxieties so we are very careful to choose an understanding sitter - and Sandy exceeded all our expectations. She does go 'Above & Beyond' in every way! From understanding an individual dogs needs to making sure the house is looked after, neat and tidy. Not an easy task given the debris our long haired dog brings in from walks. The Above & Beyond continued leaving fresh milk and a meal for us on our return home. Our girl was very comfortable with Sandy and we had no worries about leaving her in such capable hands. Nonetheless, Sandy sent a photo & text to allay any apprehensions we may have had.
Sandy is a good sort all round and we hope to have her back again.

Hi Sandy
Hazel and I would like to thank you for looking after our house and our little Lily whilst we were on holiday. We were apprehensive about having a stranger look after our house and Lily but after speaking to you and finally meeting you we left for our holiday happy knowing that Lily was in good hands. We were grateful that when Lily was unwell you arranged to take her to the vet straight away. When we returned the house was better than when we left for the holiday and the soup, chicken and salad were much appreciated. We would have no hesitation in asking you again to look after Lily and would highly recommend you to any persons who may contact us. Thanks again. Kind regards. Gary and Hazel Kiker.

To Whom It May Concern:

We had Sandy sitting for us for a month in July 2015.
We have a black lab and a poodle. Our poodle Abby has in the last months become blind because of cataracts.
Sandy looked after both of our beloved dogs and took particular care of Abby since she needed special attention.
We came home to a very tidy home and Sandy was kind enough to make us some meals for the next couple of days.
I have no hesitation to recommend her to look after your property and any animals you may have.
Regards,
Paula

When asked to provide a reference for Sandy, we were more than happy to do so. Above and Beyond - That is Sandy's motto and she lives by it.
Sandy recently cared for our 3 year old border collie and 10 year old cat while we were on holidays for six weeks. We returned home to find two very happy contented pets, a perfectly cleaned home, and a meal waiting for us.
It is with a little trepidation that a person will welcome someone into their home to care for their pets and house in their absence however, from the outset through phone calls with Sandy, we knew we had every confidence in her abilities to care for both our pets and home.
We would recommend Sandy Rex to anyone looking for someone to care for their beloved pets and home while they are away, confident in the knowledge that premium care is what they will get, in their absence.

Sandy looked after my dog, cat and house for a month over Christmas and New Year. I was impressed by her obvious ethical approach and was rewarded with a spotless house, happy pets, dinner and milk in the fridge on my return. To anyone lucky enough to be considering asking Sandy to house-sit, I would say "Do it. You won't regret it."

We recently had Sandy stay in our home to mind our two, six year old golden retrievers! We instantly felt very comfortable leaving Sandy in our home to care for our dogs. Sandy kept us up to date of any happenings whilst we were away. Upon return I was most delighted to find Sandy had gone above and beyond leaving the house in an impeccable manner along with happy dogs.

Above and Beyond is Sandy's motto, and it's very apt. She went above and beyond looking after our two Cavaliers and our cat. When we arrived home after our month's vacation, she had everything under control, the house was immaculate, the dogs were obviously in love with her, and she had even prepared dinner for us on our arrival.
Sandy is a gem. If you're lucky enough to have her look after your house and pets, you'll be as thrilled as we were.

To Whom it May Concern

It is our great pleasure to write this reference for Sandy who recently house sat for us for just over a month whilst we were overseas.

We were indeed fortunate to find Sandy who was absolutely wonderful. She looked
after our dog at a very worrying time, taking her to chemotherapy and blood tests and
really caring for her in every way. She and our dog developed a wonderful relationship and we could not have found a better person. We are indeed very grateful.

Sandy also coped with a few mishaps at the property during our absence very well and the breakdown of our central heating during a week of torrential rain, cold and winds did not deter her.

Sandy left our house in a spotless state as well as providing us with a delicious soup
and quiche for our arrival home.

We found Sandy to be the perfect house sitter and we hope that she will be available
to help us again in the not too distant future.

Should you wish to contact us regarding Sandy's services, please do not hesitate to call us

Sincerely,

Dominique & Prudence

To Whom it may concern

I am delighted to provide Sandy with a reference.

From the first contact with Sandy I knew that she would be just right for our house sit. Our phone conversation gave me plenty of confidence because although I didn't really know what to expect from a house sitter, Sandy's broad experience of house sitting shone through.

She had thought of all the details! We met the day before we left on our holiday to show Sandy around and meet the animals (they clearly were very comfortable with her right from the start). It was comforting to be able to tell Sandy about our dog's special health needs, and our cat's naughty habits! We felt confident that she understood what would be required.

Sandy had assured us that she would only contact us whilst we were away if there was a problem so we relaxed completely. Of course, on the way home we started to wonder how everything had gone. We were relieved to be home and see that all was well.

I have to say Sandy really did go above and beyond what we could reasonably have expected, to ensure that things went smoothly not just whilst we were away but also on our return: delicious home-made soup and yoghurt, a fresh bottle of milk and bread in the fridge - so thoughtful - and a new bag of dog food so that we didn't have to sort that out when we got back.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sandy to other home owners who require your services. I'm happy to be contacted by email or phone if people want to contact me directly to discuss this.

Kind regards

Penny

To whom it may concern,

We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Sandy as a house/pet sitter. In May/june2014 she looked after Cocker Spaniel Max, tropical fish and cockatiels while we went away and we could not be happier with how everything went. From our first correspondence it became clear that Sandy is a very conscientious and friendly person. She wanted to know as much as possible about Max and his likes/dislikes, habits etc., to ensure that she looked after him just as we do. We have never used the services of a house sitter before and didn't know what to expect, but can honestly say that we would not have looked after our home or pets better than Sandy did. In addition to leaving our home immaculately clean, she also saved the day when I took the wrong passport to the airport as we were due to leave for the UK! We cannot speak too highly of Sandy and it is suffice to say that we have already booked her again for next year.

Dear Home-owner seeking House-sitter

I write in recommendation of Ms Sandy who recently 'house-sat' for us for 10 days while we were overseas. We couldn't have been happier with her services !
Sandy cared for our elderly Scottie dog and looked after the house admirably.
The house was in tip top condition - all cleaned, secure and even the washing that we left on the line was sorted and folded.

The dog was thrilled with her regular walks and Sandy's company on the sofa.

The security we felt in having Sandy at home, knowing that Lottie the Scottie was well cared for and the house safe and secure was great and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her wonderful house-sitting talents. Sandy is charming, capable, honest and has a warm personality that is infectious and most reassuring.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you require further testimonial, I'd be only too happy endorse Sandy further.

Yours sincerely

Sandy looked after our two boys (a staffy and a westie) for a week from the 30th March 2014 to the 5th April 2014. Both our boys are on medication - Gus our staffy takes 6 tablets a day including chemotherapy, Alfie takes 2 tablets per day too and Sandy managed all this with no problem whatsoever. We met Sandy the day before we were due to leave and we loved her on sight (as did the boys)! I left Sandy a typed up manual of instructions etc which she read through whilst with us and then brought in her own box of food and drink etc - I told her she could help herself to anything she wanted but she came very well equipped. Sandy text me every day giving me an update on the boys so it was lovely to hear how well they were doing. Sandy had left a couple of hours before we got home and we were thrilled to come back to a lovely card and the house looking absolutely spotless, floors cleaned, bedding washed and back on the bed, even the bath mat was washed, it was just perfect. We will be asking Sandy back to look after our boys again as soon as we have arranged another holiday - we were absolutely thrilled with everything she did for us. Please feel free to give me a call if you are considering asking Sandy to house sit for you - I would happily recommend her to anyone - she is a star!

Reference - Sandy

Sandy stayed in our house in Wellington, New Zealand for four and a half weeks while we were overseas.

She was there to take care of our five year old Sydney Silkie dog named Tank. We have never been brave enough to put him in kennels because at the end of the day he is our baby!

Sandy took care of Tank as if he were hers and kept to his usual routine of walking him everyday. Since we have been back we've had neighbours commenting on how well looked after he was!

The house was exactly as we left it with fresh homemade soup in the fridge which was great after a long flight home.

We can highly recommend Sandy to take care of your pet(s) and house while you're away. You can relax knowing that they will be in safe capable hands!

Please feel free to contact either myself or my partner at anytime.

To Whom it may concern.
Pat & I have no concerns in recommending Sandy as a house sitter. We have only recently returned from a 3 week holiday overseas & Sandy came over from Sydney to Adelaide to look after our 13 year old Labrador who we treat as our baby. On returning he was in perfect condition & the house was in the same condition that we had left it.
Sandy ,we found to be very well organised & did everything we could have asked of anybody in looking after our property.
We there for would have no hesitation in recommending her for your next house sitter.
We are happy to be referees for Sandy,

Thank you so much Sandy! Sandy was an absolute find, I needed someone at quite short notice to look after my cavoodle for a work trip. She's so personable, organised and caring. Loved meeting Sandy and she did an amazing sit - looked after my place and my boy with as much care as if they were hers... Cannot recommend highly enough and hoping I've made a new friend in the process! Thanks Sandy

We were very lucky to have Sandy in our home looking after our Olive. This was our first experience with house sitters and from the outset, I knew Sandy was the right person. She was wonderful to communicate with and by the time we were going away, I felt like I had gotten to know her a bit which was very reassuring. Olive was very well looked after (spoilt!) and probably didn't even notice we were gone! Sandy left the house as she found it and even washed her bed sheets and towel which I ... MORE
