Anna & Roger

We are a retired, honest, reliable, non-smoking couple who love travel and animals. Anna has worked in aged-care and although Roger is a retired lecturer, he helped a tradesman rebuild their home and so has extensive experience with most things around the home. He’s also a keen gardener.
We’re comparatively new to this site and now have two on-line reviews. However, we have previously done several house-sits – all by word-of-mouth from people who knew our character and that they could implicitly trust us to care for their home and pets as if they were our own. One owner even asked us to do a second sit – which we did – while we were on an extended trip to England because her housekeeper had observed her cats were happier with us than any previous sitter she’d had. More recently, she asked us to sit a third time – which we did. We’ve also sat for a couple who were caretakers of a high-rise block and we were able to take on their normal duties and, most recently, did an ‘emergency’ sit for some friends with a canal property on the Gold Coast who, on return, observed their home was ‘sparkling.’
We’ve also had people sit for us while we’ve travelled and, through experience, know the importance of making the ‘right’ choice.
Both of us are fit and active and go for regular walks and so are happy to walk dogs and take care of any other special needs your pets require. We own our own home in Melbourne where we moved to help care for our two grandchildren as our daughter and son-in-law needed to continue to work. We’ve had a poodle in the past but whereas we don’t currently have pets, our daughter has a Maltese Cross and we sit for him regularly – both in their home when they go away for longer periods or in our home for short periods. He loves the attention we give him! Our home is in a gated complex, and with the grandchildren now being at school, as retirees, we are free to sit for short (if comparatively nearby) or longer periods (for places further away). Also, as retirees, we are able to devote our time to your home and/or pets during any sit.
