100% about the animals :)

53, Retired Recruitment Consultant & Mum :)

Mature, responsible and experienced single lady - lover of all creatures great and small :) Positive, with a 'can do' attitude and a natural affinity with animals. Quiet-living and respectful of the homes of others.

Firstly, I have to apologise in advance for the length of my profile, but I can't imagine that there is such a thing as 'too much' information when considering relinquishing the care and welfare of your home and animals to a stranger.

Animals have been a constant presence in my life from childhood and I cannot imagine a fulfilling life without them. I have always had dogs, cats and while my three, (now adult), children were growing up, of course we had the usual parade of chooks, guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, birds and fish.. pet rats even! I have had my own horses from a young age, with the odd break here and there when life got in the way. My most recent discovery is a love of pet sheep. In my youth I did work on cattle/sheep properties, but having been given two orphaned lambs to raise in recent years, I have discovered what a joy they too can be and what wonderful companions they are when raised in a nurturing home setting.

I have been a home-owner for the past 25 odd years and have always taken great pride and pleasure in caring for and improving my homes to the greatest extent that I can. I am very house-proud and also love to garden. Though now not as young as I'd like to be, I am still very capable :)

Personally, I am very friendly, extremely compassionate, responsible, ethical, practical, honest and I possess a great deal of common sense. I value privacy and will respect yours. I am entirely non-judgmental as regards how others choose to live their lives.. anyone who cares enough about their animals to engage the services of a pet-sitter has to be a good person :)

While you are away, you can rest assured that no one will have access to your home, property or animals other than me. I consider pet/home sitting to be a very serious responsibility and as a 'job' to be done to the best of my ability - not as a lifestyle, therefore I do not socialise or entertain visitors in the homes of others.

All instructions given re routines, security, household, garden and animal care will be followed to the letter. Your home and surrounds will be treated with care and respect. I am very much a home-body, so will be a constant presence at your property for security purposes and will be a reassuring friend to your animal family - providing them with all of the care, company and attention that they deserve. I will be contactable 24/7 and love to forward regular photos/videos for your peace of mind.

Currently I have little Pop with me, who is our last remaining family pet. I know that it's not ideal to have a pet in tow as a pet/home sitter, as it does limit my options, but I have a responsibility to this little girl to continue to care for her until such time as she leaves us. Poppy is *sort of* a dog, although I don't believe that she thinks so. (I have included a couple of photos of her - she is the little white one). Poppy is six years old and has always lived with horses, donkeys, other dogs (of all sizes), cats, chooks, sheep etc. - she has never been anything other than gentle, friendly and accommodating to all. She is 100% 'cat friendly'. Pop is completely house-trained and has better manners than many humans I know. She is desexed, kept up to date with all of her vaccinations and worming and I carry her medical records with us should anyone need reassurance. Pop is somewhat timid initially around dogs that she doesn't know, so caring for dogs that have aggressive tendencies would not work for us. Large/playful is fine, but aggressive - no. She is very friendly with cats.

I hope that I have managed to paint a thorough picture of Poppy and myself, but please do feel free to contact me with any queries that may spring to mind!

I have recently created a Facebook page for my sitting as I thought it'd be a nice way to keep a record all of the beautiful animals that we meet in our travels.

Best wishes,
Bec & Poppy

- If your dogs/cats are accustomed to sleeping on the bed with you, that's no problem :)
- I'm also happy to use my own car to chauffeur them to their usual outings, (should they have any), to the beach, dog park etc.

- I supply all of my own bed linen, pillow and doona, there's no need to make up a bed for me. (Poppy brings her own bed too).

- I provide my own food and all other supplies and groceries and consume nothing from the home.

- I do not sit Pugs, Bull Dogs or any 'flat faced' breeds.
- I also do not pet/home sit while there is ANY other individual sleeping in the home.

- I am happy to arrive well prior to your departure to enable a thorough briefing of all I need to know. You name a time and I'll be there :) I am not, however, able to live with you in your home prior to your departure.

* Only because I have been asked before - no, no fee.

KATE (Craignish QLD, Apr 2019 - 1 month)
Bec was a wonderful house sitter who looked after our two dogs with considerable care and gave them lots of attention. The house was spotless and plants watered as requested. Bec sent us regular photos and updates during the house sit. We highly recommend Bec and her own little dog Pop if you are looking for a reliable, caring person to look after your home and animals.
JENNY & TREVOR (Warwick QLD, Apr 2019 - 2 weeks 4 days)
Bec and Poppy looked after our Kelpie girl Ludo for 3 weeks and we were so glad they did. Bec's communication and almost daily pictures and videos put our minds at ease about leaving our girl. Both Bec and Poppy have lovely natures and you can tell they both have lots of experience and really understand of dogs. We'd happily have them back again for another sit. Thanks so much!

We have a large property where we run our horse industry based business from so this coupled with my 'control-freak' tendencies makes it VERY rare for us to ever leave for a weekend let alone an overseas holiday but after a not so great couple of years I bit the bullet and booked a trip. HOLY COW - now what.!!! I was panicked so three months ahead of time I start looking for a house sitter - enter Bec & Pop. After a few phone calls and emails back and forth I was comfortable enough to book them ... MORE

Bec is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend her. Our animals were cared for above and beyond and we were well informed about how they were going. Bec is a very capable woman who wasn't fazed by our houses "quirks". I am sure our labrador missed her when we got home and I would love to have her sit again for us!! Huge thanks to Bec and Pop!!! I would give her more stars if I could
ANGELA (Tatong VIC, Dec 2018 - 2 weeks)
Thanks Bec and Pop (Dog). First up, you made us feel very comfortable, with leaving the house and our variety of sometimes spoilt animals in your very capable hands. We were first times at this and a tad nerves. We returned home and every thing was in perfect order and you went out of your way in every aspect, including making every animal even more spoilt than they already are, then sending us daily photos, videos and reports of them having a good time. Bec was challenged with a rider mowing ... MORE

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bec and poppy as house sitters. They bonded instantly with our ruby who remained happy and healthy in their care. Ruby particularly loved playing with little poppy and Bec kept us well informed with photos and videos of the two while we were away. Bec kept a careful eye on our property, reporting a couple of downed sheep to our local farmer and the house was kept spotless and tidy. We hope Bec and poppy will be available to return when we are next away.
JILL (euroa VIC, Oct 2018 - 3 weeks)
Bec and Poppy made a great team and they did an outstanding job with our 5 Golden Retrievers and our beautiful property. Rebecca was always communicating about the general well being of all and asking questions. As I was travelling at the time, my Husband introduced Bec and Poppy to the crew at Camperdown. Rebecca was prompt, good natured, down to earth, thorough and warm when my husband engaged wit her. Bec was no different in person. At no time was there any hesitation on both sides to ... MORE
