We have lived on acreage for 43 years and are quite experienced with animals of all sizes and types, machinery, pumps, solar power, irrigation systems (large and small) and other aspects of rural living. We have set up and successfully run a native flower farm for ten years so we have knowledge and experience with small farms.
We love gardening and wildlife being members of the Land for Wildlife program. We are neat, tidy, non smokers who own our own home and would look after your home as we would ours. We are both very house proud people. We always arrive before the set date so that we can visit our home owners and pets before hand. Coming from Qld means that we are used to travelling long distances. We have had our own pet dogs who were very valued members of the family. Sadly they are no longer with us. We've had our own chooks, ducks, turkeys and geese also. We love house sitting and have met many wonderful people and animals over the years.
We have spent 8 months as caretakers on an estate whilst our current home was being built. Our responsibilities included hedging, mowing, pruning, gardening, pool and tennis court maintenance etc. We are an active couple! We have now settled into our new home and are eager to enjoy some more house sitting.
Cathy and John were kind, respectful housesitters. Our home was immaculate on return. They kept in contact with us regularly updating us on our two dishlickers and were so thoughtful to leave a lovely departing gift. We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely couple to take care of your home and beloved pets.

Cathy and John were fantastic! Balabalaa and Chewie were so well cared for, they were exercised daily and even had some well-received training. The plants and house were so well cared for, it was a joy to come home to everything as we left it and our pups calm and happy. Cathy and John were great to communicate with. They are very experienced sitters and were able to reassure me with each step. We have a wonderful time away and felt relaxed knowing our animals were in good hands. We returned home to find our animals well cared for and our home in great shape. Cathy and John looked after our home pets and gardens for over a week. They were easy to communicate with and kept in touch while we were away.

Without hesitation we can recommend John and Cathy as great house sitters. We came home to find a totally clean house, Cathy had even stripped and washed the bed. Our dogs where both calm and relaxed indicating they had been well looked after. We'd have you back again anytime.

I live on 1 acre just outside of Atherton, Nth QLD and have 2 very high energy spoilt dogs. My house, yard and dogs were all very well cared for by Cathy and John and house left in a clean well cared for manner.
I would happily have them house/doggy sit for me again.
From the 21st of December 2015 to the 6th of January 2016, we were fortunate enough to have the lovely John and Cathy housesit for us when we were away. After getting in contact through the Aussie House sitters website, and reading their blurb, I felt relaxed knowing that we had someone reliable and capable to take care of our dog and parrot, and of course our house, which is set on 6 acres of bush and only has tank water, so wouldn't appeal to just anyone.
