Andrew

Harrison, 2914

Type of House: House

Required From: 25 June - 13 July 2010

Period Required: 3 weeks (approx)

Warm comfortable house with 2 dogs requires house sitter for the above period while I am overseas. Duties will include keeping my house clean & secure and looking after my pets ...

My aging, well behaved dogs require a daily morning walk (about 20 mins) and feeding - but they won't let you forget about that. One of the dogs is blind which is why I don't want to put her in a kennel while I'm away - but that's no big problem for you. She can find her way around her home just fine.

My house is almost 4 years old now and within walking distance to buses to the Gungahlin towncenter and Canberra city.

This link contains some house pictures. Some are a bit old, I'll try to find some time to update these:
http://members.iinet.com.au/~ajg1/House/

All costs covered - apart from your food ! What a bargain.

I hope you are interested. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, Andrew

I am looking for someone to look after my house and dog for approximately 7 weeks. The house is in a quiet street close to parks, transport and shops. There is a pool which may need vacuuming once or twice depending on whether you decide to swim! The garden generally looks after itself and the house just needs to be kept clean and tidy with mail collected etc. The dog is a well behaved 2 year old mini foxie who loves attention and walks but is also used to spending time by herself when I am at work. Required From: 27 February 2010

Period Required: 18 days

Hi

I'm going to Vietnam for 2 1/2 weeks and need a pet & garden loving person to look after my little old 3 bedroom beach shack along with my furry & feathered family.

Saab - Most beautiful natured labrador
Kit Kat - Calico kat that comes & goes as she pleases.
Ollie & friends - 1 Alexandrine parrot & 3 quails.

Ideally I'm after a person/s that is a dog lover & doesn't mind being a companion for my pets along with taking Saab on outings/walks.

The house is second to my pets. Other than perhaps watering the garden as it needs it & collecting my mail .. it's a pretty chilled environment close to shops & public transport.

Cheers

Jannali, 2226

Type of House: House

Required From: Saturday 26th June 2010

Period Required: Approx 5 weeks

We would love to have a sitter come stay and look after our much loved 3 bedroom house, with carport including 2 beautiful 7.5 year old Labs (cream and black). Home situated close to local shops and transport (about an hour door to door into Sydney City). We are very house proud having built and rennovated our house ourselves and our 2 dogs are well looked and part of the family, so would suit someone who is comfortable around dogs. The dogs are allowed in the back area of the house and sleep in Laundry at night. The Sitter would have to be willing to put the dogs in the Laundry every night and let out in morning, they would also need to be willing to walk the dogs either together (on coupling lead) or walk separatly on alternate days. Only other thing would be to leave house as found and enjoy your stay.

Frenchs Forest, 2086

Type of House: House

Required From: June 1 untll July 24 2010

Period Required: 2 months (approx)

I am looking for someone (either a mature couple or single person) to look after my lovely three-bedroom home in Frenchs Forest.
It is on one level, has ducted central heating. which means it is very cosy in the winter months, and has a sheltered veranda at the back which gets the morning sun and is a great place to have breakfast.
There is a pool, but there will be no maintenance involved as it is serviced on a monthly basis during the winter. The only chore would be to empty the leaf trap basket occasionally!
The house is situated in a very quiet part of the suburb – there is no through traffic – and is a 10 minute walk to the nearest shopping centre. From there there are frequent buses into the city, to Chatswood and Warringah Mall. And of course to Manly, which is also about 15 minutes away by car.

Ell

Cardiff, Lake Macquarie, 2285

Type of House: House

Required From: May 15th - June 11th 2010

Period Required: 4 weeks

Hello!

We are looking for a lovely house sitter (single or couple) to stay in and look after our split level, 3 bedroom + study home in Cardiff. I feel this position would be suited to someone who does not work or works from home. The dates required would be May 15th - June 11th 2010, as we are heading to Canada and Alaska for the month.

This "position" will include

♥ caring for a 7 year old black and white cat (Kitty) who thinks he owns the house and comes and goes as he pleases (and when he's hungry!) He requires a tablet every 2nd day (tick prevention, as he is prone to ticks), but he takes these relatively easily. Checking him over for ticks on a regular basis (usually while he is sleeping on your lap or next to you) would also be needed.

♥ also caring for our gorgeous, friendly and active new addition - Bella - a puppy who will be 8 months at the time. She is a beautiful little girl, who we think is a Shompoo (£#$#zu/Pomeranian x toy poodle), although this was the vets best guess, since she was found at about 6 weeks of age on the side of the road with a broken leg, bruises, dehydration and malnutrition. A trip to the vet and RSPCA advised us to put her down... which I could not fathom, so we ended up with a new addition who is now very loved and spoilt. She does require a fair amount of human company - she likes to play, follow you around, sit on your lap or by your feet, or just be in the same room as you. She should be fully trained by the time we go away, but she is already quite well behaved for her age. She does not need any medications, but is allergic to bees, but we have removed all plants that attract bees from her area so this should not be a problem. She is not highly allergic, and if she gets stung just needs some children's anithistimine.

These would be the main focuses of the house sitter - mostly just providing attention to Bella, as Kitty just entertains himself.

My mom has a large and lovely garden as well, so if your a gardener, your more than welcome to potter around and do what you want there too, but it is not expected. Lawn mowing is not required, as we can organise a professional to do this, (unless you are willing).

Our house is located in a quiet col-de-sac. It's a friendly street, and most people know each other. Our neighbours are fantastic, and friendly and know the animals well too, so if you needed anything, they are always available. we are located 15 mins from beaches, 10 mins from lake, 10 min walk to local shops, 10 mins to westfield shopping centre, and 10 - 15 mins from some lovely cafe spots.

The house itself has 3 bedrooms upstairs, and one self contained granny flat & study downstairs. Open plan kitchen, dining and family room, and formal dining and lounge room, and 2 way bathroom, with seperate bath and shower, and toilet is seperate again. Internet, electricity and foxtel all included.

I think I have included all the information necessary - probably more than needed, but anyways. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Would love to hear from anyone who might be interested in this position. References and previous experience caring for animals would be a plus!

Also, since its my parents house, and they are hesitant about me finding some "stranger" from the internet, they would prefer to meet the people/person prior to the house sit. This is a BIG ask, I know, and so this position is probably best suited to someone who would not have to travel too far - or who we could travel to to meet - or someone who is passing by here before the required dates and might be able to stop in.

Thanks so much,
Ell

Rosemary

Tamworth, 2340

Type of House: Farm House

Required From: 30 March - 24 May 2010

Period Required: approx 7 weeks

We are looking for a mature non-smoking couple to mind out home and pets. We are located about 14 km (an easy 10-15 minute drive) from Tamworth in a lovely quiet location.
The house is on 40 acres, with approx 6 acres of easy care gardens. It is a modern brick federation style house, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, tiled family room, kitchen, formal lounge room, formal and informal dining rooms.
Pool.
Gardens are mainly lawns and trees, and there are appropriate lawn tractor and other rideons to make it easy to look after.
We have four friendly dogs - a chocolate lab, a smooth collie, who sleep inside and a very elderly blind dachshund and his companion an equally elderly maltese who have their own yard where they are confident and familiar with their surroundings.
We also have a lovely cat who graces us with his presence when it suits!
There is also a large water lily fish pond whih looks after itself.
Ours is a laid back, comfortable household, and we are hoping to find people who can relax and enjoy living here whilst we are away, care for our "fur kids" and generally keep an eye on things.
At that time of year, there is minimal need for mowing, but it is still warm enough to swim. The pool is an automated chemigem system, with kreepy type auto cleaner.
Our adult children are located under an hour away, should there be any problems (highly unlikely)
We would expect good references and would prefer police check, although this is not essential.

Required From: June 11 - 19 2009

Period Required: 9 days

We need someone to care for our two aged small dogs, a 13 year old deaf and nearly blind Westie, and a small bitser about 11 years old, and two chooks who should be laying, The dogs are both house-dogs but go outside to toilet. We live in a comfortable home in Camden NSW and are close to all amenities. The house is air-conditioned and has all mod-cons. The garden may need a water but that would be all. We are going to Port Douglas for a wedding and I would be very reluctant to board either dog. We used a house-sitter last year and were delighted. Unfortunately she is not available this time. Our main concern is the welfare of the dogs. There are no household duties required except that the house be kept clean and tidy.

Cedar Grove, 4285

Type of House: House

Required From: Wednesday 10th March - Sunday 14th March 2010

Period Required: 5 days

Am going on a trip to NZ from 10/3/2010 morning - 14/3/2010 afternoon. Will have only moved into my new house 2 weeks prior, so am looking for someone to housesit and care for my pets.
My house is on 3 acres with a fenced house yard and has air conditioning and privacy (set back from road).
I have two dogs (rough collies) who live inside but love to have runs outside...they are very much "people" dogs. I also have three cats (one 16 years and two 18 months old)...all live inside. I also have a tropical fishtank and cold water fishtank.
My house is in Cedar Grove, just south of Jimboomba off Mt Lindsey Highway.
My main concern is someone to be there for the pets and to mind the house.

Regards,
Fiona

Cedar Creek, 4520

Type of House: Farm House

Required From: December /January (not booked yet)

Period Required: 3-4 Weeks

We live on acreage one hour North West of Brisbane. We really care about our animals so want someone to live in. We have 3 dogs mixed breeds all trained however they are family pets and are inside/outside dogs (they enjoy company). 2 cats and 4 alpacas. Its the dogs that are the main ones to look after. I would not require any mowing or maintainance. I am looking for a retired couple so the dogs will have company. A couple is best as life here can be lonely on your own. It would be summer, however being on a hill we do get a breeze and have ceiling fans. The veranda has a great view night and day. The local village is just 10 minutes by car (they have a large IGA). Please contact me if you are interested.

Giru - 65km south of Townsville, 4809

Type of House: Farm House

Required From: 30/03/10 - 07/04/10

Period Required: 8 Days

We live on a 220 acre sugar cane and mango farm. The farm is situated in the lovely Burdekin Shire and is only 65 kilometres south of Townsville. Giru township is just 13 kilometres away and is known as 'The home of the barra' Australia-wide! We have a comfortable partially airconditioned 4 bedroom house (All with queen size beds)that is in the process of being renovated and should hopefully be completed before our holidays start! Once the renovations are done the house will have a master suite with an ensuite and a lovely big deck to dine on. We have wireless internet that can be utilised and also digital TV. We have a menagerie of pets including 2 dogs, 10 geese, 10 chooks and a tame cockatiel. The dogs need a small walk everyday, all the animals need clean water everyday and the chooks need letting out of an afternoon and their food replenished and eggs collected, the geese need to be put in their cage before bedtime and let out in the morning. The bird prefers to be out sitting on your shoulder but if this is not possible the company in the house is enough! We have a basic garden and the pop-up sprinklers will need to be put on a couple of times a week. There is a mail delivery 3 times a week and the box is only 50 metres from the house. There is no farm work required, just someone who enjoys a serene environment and loves the company of animals. This vacancy offers a small monetary fee. We would prefer a non-smoker but smokers are welcome to apply as long as this activity is undertaken away from the house. This vacancy would suit a retired couple or couples or someone simply wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life...MUST have references.

Our beautiful Jack Russell Rosie is a person loving pooch who hates going to kennels and just loves to be around people. Those chocolate brown eyes will melt your heart within minutes…

Period Required: 3 weeks

My husband, myself and our 18 month old daughter will be away on holidays from the 29th Feb 2010 -20th March 2010.
We live in Hillcrest Qld which is a 40 min car trip to Brisbane City & 30 - 40 mins to the gold coast. It is 5 minutes drive to the Logan motorway which joins to the Pacific & Gateway Motorways just down the road so it is quick and easy to go up or down the coast for day trips.
We have a 4 bedroom home on an 850sq block opposite a lovely park with Australia’s largest RSL and a major shopping centre five minutes walk away. There is an express bus that can be caught to Brisbane City from the RSL also.
We have two dogs - a boy Rotty & a girl Staffy which we would ask to be walked across the road at the park a minimum of every 2 days. They would also need to be bathed twice during your stay and the lawn mowed once or twice. We have great neighbours that look out for one another yet keep to themselves.
I work from home and our dogs are used to having someone around so we would prefer an animal loving non working couple who will be home the majority of the time.
We are happy for the couple to either stay in our home or their own motor home. We have a dual access block so there is a secure elevated space in our yard with power available.
There is also an outdoor spa to enjoy.
If this sounds like it might fit in with your plans could you please send me an email. I can send more photo's on request as the picture I have attached doesn't show a whole lot.

Sandie

Upwey, 3158

Type of House: House

Required From: Tue 16 March - Sat 28 March

Period Required: 12 days

My home is in Upwey, in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges outside of Melbourne, just over a 1hr suburban train ride or easy 45min "down the freeway" car trip into town. Puffing Billy steam train tourist attraction is just down the road in Belgrave. My home is set in the gum trees with only the birds or the breezes to break the peaceful silence. It is a residential setting, with houses around but in a little street that leads to a dead end. The only "job" would be to use the watering can to water my ferns and flowers and garden and to throw a handful or two of birdseed to feed the local rosellas and king parrots looking for their top up breakfast each morning. No animals as such are involved. House sitting would entail simply being here, having a beautiful quiet base to roam near or far in a home that is rustic, with an open fireplace, exposed beam roof throughout that makes it warm and welcoming and nurturing. A vine covered verandah goes along the front of the house, morning coffee sitting out there in the dappled sunlight is a must! My housesit is for those who seek a peaceful, quiet environment on the door step of much more to explore if one wished. The quaint villages or bushwalking in the Dandenongs or exploring further afield to more are all possible to you in staying here. Sitter/s must be non smoker/s.

Type of House: House

Required From: 28/2/2010

Period Required: 2 months. Until the end of April

I live on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. Water at the bottom of my garden.
Top priority is my lovely 5yo Greyhound called Trixie. She is a couch potato and only requires 2 walks a day, dinner at night and lots of cuddles. Meals all prepared, and in freezer.
She exits the house into her own garden through a 'doggie door' in the laundry.
My 3 bedroomed home is 5 minutes by car to shops.
I have an automatic watering system, with just a few pots to hand water.

Miners Rest, 3352

Type of House: House

Required From: 19th March - 6th July 2010

Period Required: 4 - 5 months

Hello, we need housesitter/s between the 19th March 2010 and 6th July 2010. Had a wonderful sitter last year and are rapt in Aussie Housesitters.

We live at Miners Rest, Ballarat, Vic and have a new home with all mod cons except cooling but have double insulation and double glazing. Have a spa bath which we hope will be used frequently – the grey water waters the “lawn”.

We have 2 very old, deaf dogs which are past being walked and just need to be fed and given lots of TLC. We used to cook their food but recently they’ve become fussy so will provide a variety of dog food for them.

Also have a young galah which needs lots of TLC and being talked to, put on the shoulder as well as being fed and watered. He’s normally a good boy. Can be precocious, but mainly with me (his Mum).

Minimal garden – a ”lawns”need a mow now and then (that is, if we manage to get turf down in the front). Weeding the garden only if you want to. Some watering – we have a 30,000 litre tank and also able to use town water now for an hour 2 days a week.

2 Minutes from post office and supermarket by car or 5 minutes from main shopping area by car. 10 minutes from centre of town by car.

Do hope you are interested.
Regards,

Will down load picture of home if required - picture is 12 months old. House is the same, surrounds are different.

Most of the property is regenerating and will require very little work. There is a small vegie garden and fruit trees. There MAY be chickens.... Type of House: Farm House

Required From: 2/7/2010-17/9/2010

Period Required: 2 months (approx)

Three bedroom brick house with veranda right around and a large outdoor entertaining area. Property is on 10 acres. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses currently although that might reduce. We require a caring, animal lover to look after our much loved pets while we are away. The cats have a cat door and come and go as they please and are fed inside. 2 of the dogs sleep outside on the veranda and the other sleeps in the laundry. They are allowed in at night usually to sit on their rug for an hour or so. They are well behaved with the 2 bigger dogs being obedience trained and both have done dog agility. We would like the house kept clean and tidy and you may have to cut the grass in spring with a ride on mower. If the horses are still here they will need to be fed once a day - you don't need to go into the paddock with them to do this as their feed bins hang on the fence. You will need to check their water regularly. There is an experienced horse person nearby to call on if needed. House has a split system in the kitchen and a coonara heater in the living room.

Required From: 20TH AUGUST 2010

Hi There

I require a house sitter to look after my spoilt rotten dog and 3 just as spoilt cats.

My house is two bedroom cottage with a huge cottage garden. I only have one room set up as a bedroom so probably would best suit a single person.

I would really love someone who adores dogs and cats.
Two of the cats are indoor only and have a full cat run that they can enter when the please from the house. My other cat is old and roams around the garden however I would prefer he comes in at night.
My dog Ted, is a timid Jack Russell cross Whippet and only requires feeding and heaps of pats and cuddles.
You are welcome to treat the house as your own. However just keep it neat and tidy.

Sitter/s must be animal lovers with some knowledge of upkeep, understand country life (ie risk of fires, snakes, etc ) and have common sense. Sometimes i get plenty of notice of going away, other times it can be a ASAP basis, so someone close would be handy. must have police clearance (which i can double check !!!) and references. I would like to be able to go away and not have to worry about my animals and home, as my parents are now past being able to assist anymore. There may be a time or two where i will need the sitter for 6 or so weeks at one time, tho this is not regular. There is plenty of room for a caravan if you need. If you like pottering in the garden would be a bonus, but not necessary, as long as you can water my plants. If you feel this would suit you and you could help me out, please contact me. thank you

Required From: 15/02/10

Period Required: 4 weeks (potential for ongoing)

Preferably a self contained couple as, while lived in, this is an old station homestead and cooling etc is far from ideal for those not acclimatised and there are a few bugs etc getting around!
Diesel power is available if required and, if that is being run then would hope that the lawns would be watered.
Basically just need some eyes around the place while the manager is away attending another commitment.
Will be just the caretakers for most of the period, while secluded is only 23kms off Great Northern Highway, half way between Meekatharra and Mt Newman and halfway from Perth to Broome.
Bird spotters paradise due to dry season.
May lead to ongoing opportunities down the track for the right couple.
