Neither of us have worked on a farm before but I've owned and worked with horses all my adult life. Many of the yards I've been to over the years have had a mixture of resident farm animals as well as horses, including donkeys, sheep, pigs & chickens so I have acquired a decent amount of knowledge of these animals through this. I believe, that both myself and Jon are responsible and mature enough to look after these types of farm animals without problem.

The Furfect Couple

Ashley Elizabeth: 32, Full time traveller

Hi, I'm Ashley and my husband is Jon. Last year we quit our jobs and sold our home to come travelling. We have been travelling around SE Asia for almost 8 months now and will be continuing our journey in Australia. Jon is currently studying an online Psychology degree and I'm just enjoying the ride. We can't wait to enjoy all the wonderful experiences Australia has to offer us, meeting lot's of new furry friends being one of them.

We met in 2009, bought and renovated our first home together in 2014 and got married in 2021. We are sociable people and enjoy meeting new people but we do not drink very much and we don't smoke, instead we eat lots of good food 🙂 Of course we love travelling and being outdoors. We enjoy hiking, spending time in local parks, going to the beach and just exploring in general.

We are both caring, compassionate and responsible people with a passion for animal welfare. We both grew up around animals and together as adults we've supported local charities when we could, by fundraising and fostering in our own home. Although we are new to Aussie House Sitters, we have been house sitters for friends and family back in the UK, who would be happy to provide honest references on request.

We are happy to look after older pets and those that have additional needs such as daily medication but equally those that have bundles of energy. The only animals that we don't have prior experience with is reptiles. We would still be willing to consider these depending on what was involved.
