Jennifer & Paul Murphy

We are a Scottish family of 3 (mum, dad and daughter aged 11) who are emigrating to Brisbane at the end of October 2024.
We have 2 of our own dogs (Ruby the retriever and Coco the dachshund) who will be joining us in Australia at the end of January, which is when our daughter starts year 7.
Until then we would like to explore the Brisbane area to get a feel for different areas.
We are clean living non-smokers who like to be active - we love walking and strength training and our daughter loves swimming.
I am a qualified languages teacher most recently employed at the UK Cabinet Office and my husband is director of his own gas engineering business in Scotland.
I will be seeking work in the QLD public sector and my husband is looking at facilities management roles. We plan for at least one of us not to start work until our daughter starts school, so at least one of us will be around all of the time at home to look after the house and pets.
In Scotland we have a lovely 4 bed detached home with a large garden which we maintain and clean between us.
We have recently completed ACRO UK Police checks and you can check our Airbnb profile for reviews (we regularly travel with and without the dogs).
Growing up, my parents had a few rescue dogs so I am used to dealing with sensitive dogs and I am also comfortable with dogs who may need medication or extra TLC.
Our 11 year old is quite mature and very well behaved around animals.
