Retired English couple, married over 40 years and have been home owners all this time. We're active and enjoy daily walking, so having some more four-legged company would be great! We have been members of this website since 2018 and many bookings are now repeat housesits.
We're experienced dog owners and have had one rescue dog and four labradors over the years. Since October 2020, we have another addition to our family, a Jack Russell terrier. He will, obviously, have an impact on the housesits that we can accept but we may consider solo sits if you prefer.
Sheelagh has been working with children for many years, helping primary school students with their literacy and numeracy. Andy was an accountant and, in the UK, played rugby union, coached the juniors for 10 years and was also the club treasurer. Current police clearance checks available on request.
We are honest, reliable, trustworthy and non-smokers. You can have peace of mind that we will look after your pets and home as though they were our own (please read our reviews below). Dogs will be walked according to their usual routines and cats will have laps!
Our preference is for short term NSW housesits from a long weekend up to ten days in Sydney, the Central Coast or Wollongong areas which are all within 1.5 hours' drive of our home. We are both fully vaccinated, including our booster shots.
If you think we would be a good match to your needs, please do get in touch. Where practical, we like to visit pets in their home environment before confirming the sit.
Fantastic house sitter!! No hesitation recommending Sheelagh and / or Andy. We know when we are travelling in remote areas with little access to text/email we can relax, entirely confident our precious Miss Daisy & our home are being looked after so well.
Andy and Sheelagh are a pleasure to deal with and we know our labrador Olly is very well looked after and our house is always left very clean. This is the second stay and would love to have them back anytime

This is the second time Sheelagh and Andy have looked after our dog. I felt completely comfortable leaving her with them. Sheelagh and Andy are reliable and caring, and I returned to a calm and happy pooch. The house was left in a neat and tidy condition. I would unreservedly recommend them.

Wow! Sheelagh & Andy are simply fantastic people to have as sitters. We reached out to them when another sitter canceled. We needed sitters who could cover two sets of dates (4night & 2nights) across 2 consecutive weekends. We had absolute confidence in them from the first telephone chat & were super delighted they also visited us a week before the first sit date to meet our dog Daisy. On both sit occasions we came home to a spotless home and a happy dog.
This was our first experience with Aussie Housesitters and we were very pleased to return home and find the house just as we had left it. Sheelagh and Andy had even left fresh milk in the fridge for us and had sent photos to us, during our one week absence, of our dog, Ellie. Thank you both.
Sheelagh & Andy were amazing house sitters. Even one of our cats, the aloof one, warmed to them immediately, and it appears there were lots of cuddles and lap sits based on the pictures they emailed us. They took Moppet out for daily walks/plays. The house was left immaculate. We would highly recommend them for any sit.

Sheelagh & Andy looked after our dog (Mia) so well and even got up in the middle of the night to care for her when she was frightened by a storm. Our house was left cleaner than when we left. They were excellent house and pet sitters.

Sheelagh and Andy cared for our house, our 2 little dogs and cat for 3 weeks whilst we were away on a cruise in April 2018. We had Sheelagh and Andy stay with our dog for a last minute short stay. They looked after him and the house really well, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a friendly couple for a house sit.
